The headliners for the 25th anniversary of the Greatest Homecoming on Earth (GHOE) concert were announced last Friday at the “Stomp the Block” block party.
Three-time Grammy-nominated artist Bryson Tiller and two-time Grammy-nominated artist Latto will headline the event. Also performing are BossMan Dlow, Mariah The Scientist, and Rob49. Internet comedian Desi Banks is also set to appear. Presented by the Office of Student Activities, the concert will be the final event of the homecoming week.
Michael Bivens, a graduate of North Carolina A&T and former VP of external affairs, known as “Jussmikey”,expects a diverse lineup. “The best part about this event is the diversity; every fan can expect to be entertained,Miles Norwood and Landerson Young did a phenomenal job.”
Last year’s Homecoming concert was a very enjoyable experience for fans, Bivens assisted Young in bringing Summer Walker, Lil Durk, Flo Milli, and CoCo Jones.
“This is a 10 out of 10 lineup, and I expect it to sell out the Coliseum like last year.” Bivens said.
Tiller, fresh off his “The Bryson Tiller Tour,” is one of the most anticipated performers. His latest self-titled album has received positive critique , with the hit “Whatever She Wants” spending 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
Latto, who recently released her album “Sugar Honey Iced Tea,” is currently one of the top female artists in the music industry. The Atlanta-raised rapper, continues to top charts with hits like: “Big Mama” and “ Put it on the floor.”
Rob49, Mariah The Scientist, and BossMan Dlow are emerging artists in hip-hop and R&B, collectively attracting over 15.6 million monthly Spotify listeners and gaining rapid popularity within a short period of time.
The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, the same day as the homecoming football game against fellow CAA-affliated HBCU Hampton University. Few tickets still remain and can be purchased here.
