Another one, thank you! Livingstone College has received yet another multi-million-dollar donation from its anonymous donor. The college received an $8 million donation last week.
This donation comes shortly after Livingstone received a remarkable $10 million donation just last month, making it the largest donation in the college’s history. Over the past nine months, an anonymous donor has gifted Livingstone $25 million. The anonymous donations are being used for the ‘Miracle on Monroe Street: Livingstone College Reimagined’ infrastructure and capital projects.
The anonymous donations to Livingstone began last year during the homecoming celebrations for the college. The second donation was made during the college’s 145th Founder’s Day celebration back in February. Then the anonymous donor gifted Livingstone with $1 million in donations in both March and April. The college received two $1 million donations in June. Last month Livingstone received its historic $10 million donation.
The ‘Miracle on Monroe Street: Livingstone College Reimagined’ project is currently being done in phases. Phase one of the infrastructure project include upgrades to two residence halls as well as a dining hall. Upgrades to the dining hall include new flooring and increased capacity to provide students with a better dining experience. Renovations to Tucker and Dancy residence halls are still underway and are expected to be completed sometime next year. The college is set to begin Phase 2 of dining hall renovation next spring. Renovations to Tucker and Babcock Halls are expected to begin next spring as well.
Livingstone College President Dr. Anthony J. Davis encourages alumni and members of the community to continue donating the college in anyway they can.
